First, let me thank you for visiting my website and blog page.
I married my husband the fall after graduating high school and am blessed that he has been faithful to me and my healing. Together, we have a son and a daughter, and two beautiful granddaughters. I loved being able to care for my granddaughters while my daughter and son-in-law are working, and look forward to being able to resume that role as soon as I recover from the effects of breast cancer and the surgeries I have had to endure as a result of the cancer.
My life has been filled with anguish and torment, but it has also been lavished with love and blessings. I have struggled throughout my life with my relationship with God and His role in what has and has not happened. Wondering where He was, why He would allow all the things I faced, when it would end, why He didn't stop it, if He loved or hated me, not to mention my ability for salvation.
I am a survivor of childhood and adult abuse and have been in therapy for healing. As a child I was subjected to physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and sexual abuse at the hand of my mother and her cohorts. As an adult I suffered emotional, mental, spiritual and sexual abuse from a boss. Today I am able to speak about the abuse through writing poems, journaling, and speaking to others in a structured environment.
People that read my writings stated that I should put the poems in a book, which I have recently done and published them in paperback and as an eBook. My therapist suggested that I write other books that could help other survivors, but also therapists to better understand the nature of childhood trauma and how as a survivor, it affects one as an adult; as well as how those effects create problems with relationships and have the potential for subjecting the survivor to further abuse as an adult. I am in the process of writing my second book now and hope to have it completed and published in several months.
Another way of expressing things was drawing. Some say that I have a natural ability to draw and said I should sell my work. I draw domestic and wildlife animals, scenery, and people. My drawings are done in black and white, color and the combination of both, using graphite and colored pencils as the main mediums.
The purpose for this website is to sell my drawings and the book of poems that was recently published. The proceeds from the sales will pay for the supplies used and the balance will be used to help other survivors as I am able.
The reason for this blog page is to connect with others, whether survivor, family or friend of a survivor, my supporters and customers. I will write various topics concerning childhood and adult abuse, the effects they presented to me as a survivor and how I healed from the trauma. It is my hope that you as a reader are blessed in some way through my efforts to help others.
